Simultaneous conservation of excavated Sites

The Directorate has taken keen interest to conserve structural remains that is revealed in due course of excavation. This is also known as insitu preservation. When any structural remains unearthed during excavation it get exposed with the surrounding environment which differ from the buried environment. An artifact or feature when it get exposed suddenly to the new environment, the moisture present in the artifact get eapovate so quickly which cause the irregular contraction within the physical properties of the object. This results in cracking, crumbling and breaking of the objects. So, after excavation revealed structure and antiquities are being treated scientifically to prolong the life span of the same.
